Electron - pair densities of group 2 atoms in their 1 P and 3 P terms

چکیده
Electron-pair intracule (relative motion) and extracule (center-of-mass motion) densities are studied in both position and momentum spaces for the difference in the intracule densities shows that the probability of a small interelectronic distance is larger in the triplet for all the six atoms, as reported for the lightest Be atom in the literature. The position-space extracule density clarifies that the triplet electrons are more likely to be at opposite positions with respect to the nucleus than the singlet electrons for all the atoms. In momentum space, the singlet generally has a larger probability of a small relative momentum between two electrons as a na¨ıve manifestation of the Fermi hole in the triplet. The extracule density in momentum space shows that the 1 P term has a distribution larger in a large center-of-mass momentum region than the 3 P term. Electron-pair center-of-mass-motion densities of atoms in position and momentum spaces
Spherically averaged center-of-mass-motion ~extracule! densities d(R) in position space and d̄(P) in momentum space represent probability densities of finding center-of-mass radii urj1rku/2 and upj1pku/2 of any pair of electrons j and k to be R and P , respectively. Theoretical analysis shows that in the Hartree-Fock approximation, the individual spin-orbital-pair component of the extracule dens...
متن کاملElectron-pair uncertainty relationships and the intracule–extracule isomorphism
Electron-pair uncertainty relationships of generalized Heisenberg type in quantum mechanics are formulated. They express restrictions imposed by quantum theory on the electron-pair intracule (relative motion) and extracule (centre-of-mass motion) densities in the two complementary spaces by means of the corresponding statistical moments. These relations are shown to reduce to an elementary or H...

Spherically averaged electron-pair relative-motion ~intracule! densities h(u) in position space and h̄(v) in momentum space represent probability densities of finding interelectronic position and momentum distances, urj2rku and upj2pku, of any pair of electrons j and k to be u and v , respectively. Using the numerical Hartree-Fock method, these electron-pair densities h(u) and h̄(v) are construct...
متن کاملUpper bounds to atomic electron densities in position and momentum spaces
Modified functions r−αρ(r) and p−β (p) of the spherically averaged electron densities ρ(r) in position space and (p) in momentum space are found to be convex (i.e., the second derivatives are nonnegative everywhere) for all the 103 ground-state atoms from hydrogen (atomic number Z = 1) to lawrencium (Z = 103), if the parameters are chosen to be α 0.6 and β 1.4. The convex property of r−αρ(r) an...
متن کاملContribution to the electron distribution analysis. I. Shell structure of atoms
Relativistic spherically averaged numerical all-electron densities p were computed for the atoms Be-Ba, B-Tl, C-Pb, Cu-Au, and Zn-Hg. The Laplacian of these densities is not able to resolve the valence shell from the inner shells in case of heavy atoms, starting with the fourth row. The distribution of the local kinetic energy Ekin shows a valence maximum even for these heavy atoms, unfortunate...
